After your loved ones passing the Medical Examiners office will contact you to:

  • Answer any questions you have about this or the healthcare provided to the person before they died

This is voluntary and you do not have to speak to them.

You will also be contacted again by the Medical Examiners Office to confirm you can register the death. Register the death within 5 days (8 days in Scotland) of being contacted. This includes weekends and Bank Holidays.

All information with regards to registering a death can be found on the Gov.uk Register a death website.

Of course, feel free to get in touch if you need to know more.
